All about Minoxidil
Hair loss can be treated with Minoxidil. Top-of-the-scalp hair loss or thinning due to genetics responds best to this treatment. The treatment of hypertension is one of its few applications.
Let's understand how Minoxidil works?
An activator of potassium channels, Minoxidil stimulates hair growth. To treat hypertension, its vasodilatory effects increase blood flow through dilating blood vessels and consequently lower blood pressure (hypertension). Minoxidil's vasodilatory effects are enhanced when applied topically to the scalp. Increased blood flow to the scalp helps nourish the hair follicle, which in turn helps keep hair cells from dying and promotes the creation of new hair. To reverse hair thinning, it works like this: (alopecia).
To what extent should Minoxidil be applied?
- The form of Minoxidil intended for use on the scalp is a liquid. Typically, Minoxidil should be used twice daily.
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for clarification if there is anything on the label or packaging you do not understand. Apply Minoxidil as prescribed. Use exactly as prescribed by your doctor; no more, no less.
- The extra hair growth or reduced adverse effects are not possible at higher doses. For best results, continue using Minoxidil for at least 4 months and ideally for an entire year.
- Three unique applicators are included: a metered-spray applicator, an extender spray applicator (used with the metered-spray applicator) for small areas or beneath the hair, and a rub-on applicator.
- First, you'll want to unscrew the bottle's outer and inner caps. Then, you may select an applicator and securely screw it onto the bottle.
- The extended spray applicator requires the metered-spray applicator to be assembled before use. Each dose requires six pumps of the metered spray or extended spray bottle.
- Always replace the large cap on the metered-spray bottle and the small cap on the extender spray nozzle to prevent accidental spraying.
- If you want to use the rub-on applicator, you need to fill the upper chamber to the black line, which you may do by holding the bottle upright and squeezing the container. Then you can rub the medicine into your skin by inverting the bottle. When not in use, secure the bottle's big cap.
- If you use your fingers to dole the treatment, give them a good scrub afterward.
- Only treat a dry scalp and hair with Minoxidil. Remember to keep it away from your eyes and any sensitive skin you may have. Wash the affected areas thoroughly with cold water if this happens, and if irritation persists, see a doctor.
- Do not use Minoxidil if your scalp is sensitive or has been exposed to the sun.
- Abnormal weight increase
- Symptoms include puffiness in the face, ankles, hands, or stomach, difficulty breathing, and a rapid heartbeat
- Hurting chest
- Light-headedness
